At Biotiful, we’re working hard to spread the word about just how vital your gut health is to support your overall health and wellbeing, but did you know it’s equally as im-paw-tant for your pup?
Your dog's gut health is central to their health and happiness, so we’ve teamed up with the team at Pooch & Mutt to educate and empower pet owners about the benefits of a healthy gut microbiome for their dog. Learn what you can do to help support your dog gut health, and how Kefir can keep you feeling your best, too!

Why have we collaborated?
We’re excited to be partnering with Pooch & Mutt, as we’re both built upon the foundational belief that gut health is vital, whether that’s for humans or our furry friends! Both our products nourish and support a balanced gut microbiome.

By making a simple switch to Biotiful or Pooch & Mutt, you can improve digestion, immunity, and overall wellbeing for yourself and your dog. Is Kefir good for dogs?
Kefir is good for dogs in the same way that it’s good for us humans! As discussed over on Pooch & Mutt’s blog, Kefir is a gut-healthy, natural superfood to get your dog’s gut health back on track. Balancing your dog’s gut microbiome with foods like Kefir is really important for them.
When you get the balance of your dog’s bacterial ecosystem right, they are able to create the acids, sugars, neurotransmitters and vitamins that actively work to support other crucial bodily functions, from digestion and nutrient absorption to their oral health and brain function!
When the bacterial ecosystem inside your dog’s gut is well balanced, your gut can efficiently create different acids, sugars, neurotransmitters and vitamins that actively support other crucial bodily functions. This massively contributes to your dog’s overall health, wellbeing and longevity.
How can I feed my dog Kefir?
On their blog, our friends over at Pooch & Mutt have given some inspiration on how you can incorporate Kefir into your dogs diet:
-
Spread Kefir on a licky mat
-
Freeze it into cubes
-
Mix it with their everyday food
-
Blend Kefir into a dog-friendly smoothie with dog-safe fruits and veggies like blueberries, apples, bananas and spinach
Each day, you can give a small dog 1 teaspoon of Kefir, a medium dog 1 tablespoon, and a large dog 2 tablespoons.

What other fun have we got up to?
As part of our partnership, we’re helping paw-rents to best support their dog with the help of Pooch & Mutt. They have an at-home, easy-to-use gut health test that Leannie (bark-eting manager and dog of our Senior Campaigns and Content Manager, Becky Smith) has put to the test, to gain clear, science-backed insights into his gut health. We’ve shared the insights we received from the report over on Instagram!
You can read all about Lennie’s Dog Gut Health Journey, looking into the health of Lennie’s gut, the bacteria there and how well his gut is supporting the rest of his body. You can get the same insights for your own dog using their gut health test!
